December Bypass Twin?

Recommended Posts

In hospital they gave me a compression band. The nurse was so nice and the wrap was a dream. I still have it and though I can go without it I wear it especially when walking or extreme moving around. I will have to get the Spanx suit. I know it will also help the stoma muscles.

Just got home from my post-op. 10 days out and he said I'm doing great. I've been cleared to go to the gym! Up to 15lbs, but hey! That's so exciting to me. I am 20.2lbs down since November 26th, which I'm excited about. Still full liquid until January 1.
I am not sure what if any weight I have lost. There is a difference in the way my clothes fit. Trying to get in plenty of walking everyday as it is the most effective exercise I can do right now. Water and Protein as close to meeting daily goal as possible. I am excited to see big results but willing to take the time to do it right. So happy to have this tool[emoji3]

Hello everyone. RNY on December 14th. One day in the hospital. Only complication in surgery was a very low heart rate which apparently gave everyone pause. Not doing too bad otherwise, although that first sip of Water in the morning is still painful. Incision sites are healing well. shakes and Protein Powder are working so far (3 weeks down, 2 more to go), but I can see how this would get old.

Now the long road back to work. My job has extensive medical requirements which results in a minimum waiting period of 60 days post-op before they will even review my case for consideration. Looks like I'm out of work for a minimum of 3, maybe 4 months total. Kind of a bummer ($$$) but I knew that going in.

So glad I found this forum!

Ae2018- my surgery is in 5 days. No pre-op diet for me but I am watching my food intake. Clear Liquids only the day before. I am fairly certain Protein Shakes will be too sweet for me post op and I have GENEPRO Protein Powder which I tried with chicken bullion, not a fan. I plan on making Jell-O shots this weekend with it. I tried chicken broth Soup from Unjury and LOVED it so I ordered plenty. I’m trying to stay out of the public as much as possible due to it being cold and flu season and I am not trying to get sick and have surgery postponed so I have stocked up on crystal light and flavored waters as well.
I had full liquid diet starting December 3rd. Clear liquids only December 9th nothing after midnight. Surgery was December 10th, clear liquids after surgery then since they were tolerated full liquid diet for two weeks and yesterday started pureed foods. A new addition. Every little bit is something to look forward to. Merry Christmas and best wishes.

Hi everyone! Happy holidays!

I had my RNY on December 17th as well. Threw in a large hiatal hernia repair to boot. Went in at noon on Monday and released at 11am Wednesday. Not bad. Came home off my blood pressure meds which was one of my reasons for doing the procedure in the first place.

I’ve had quite a good amount of pain that I’m attributing to the hernia repair more than the RNY. Protein shakes... can’t choke them down so I’m drinking Isopure like it’s my job. Whipped cottage cheese and unsweetened applesauce are my jam!

I’m really excited to make this tool work for me. This is likely the best decision I’ve ever made for myself. Glad to have all of you on this same crazy ride with me!

Agree about the Protein Shakes. Week 4 of all liquids for me, mostly Protein shakes for convenience, but they are really getting tough to take. So tired of no texture. Looking forward to that first piece of fish or a scrambled egg. One more week to go...sigh.

I'm with you! I have 5 days left of full liquid, then moving on to soft foods. The Protein Shakes are killing me! Lol. Prior to surgery I found several I loved. Now they're so sweet and have become the most hated part of my day. Can't wait for something new.

Managed to get a shake down today. Went with the orange cream HPMR done in the magic bullet with some added ice. So happy it went down okay. Able to do about 4oz of Soup (blended to death) so I could actually have dinner with my family. Things are looking up!

We got this you guys! 2019 is going to be our year!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
