Question - Does anyone have issues w/ condiments?

Recommended Posts

I've been reviewing what I ate yesterday that may have contributed to my dumbing episode. The only thing that I ate differently from days past is a small dip of ketchup. Does anyone else have issues w/ Condiments? Are there specific ones that I should avoid?

Well ketchup does have sugar in it, not quite certain of the%, been years I made my own. Had a primary care tell me not to use it for that reason, said mustard would be better on sandwiches and such. Just like commercial salad dressings contain hidden sugars, better also to make EVOO and lemon juice or a vinegar for on your salads.
Hope everything is better for you now Twism44 and maybe it will never repeat itself.

This is a tough question to answer, because we don't know what you dipped into that ketchup. Was it a fry? If so... it was more than likely the grease than the ketchup. Ketchup can have a decent amount of sugar in it, but if it really was just a "dip" then the odds of that being the cause are small (not impossible, just, reduced).

When did the "dumping" happen? Around / within 30 mins after to ingestion is typically sugar, upwards of 3 hours later, is typically fat. These can vary greatly however, just basic "guidelines".

What did you eat in addition to the ketchup?

I dipped a grilled wing in ketchup. The dumping happened about 3 hours after I ate the chicken. I'm thinking it was the fat rather than the ketchup. Gotta make smarter decisions.

Agreed, sounds like the chicken. Might not be a problem forever though, just now given your surgery was less than a month ago.

ketchup has about 4g of sugar in a serving... so not too terribly high, but it is fairly acidic. chicken can also be tough to digest at first, because if it’s dry and stringy, it’s hard to chew it enough..

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
