Bariatric Pal Store??? Non-whey options.

Recommended Posts

I am having trouble finding many items in the BariatricPal Store that does not have whey in it. Anyone here familiar with any products on there that are whey-free? I've clicked through a bunch with no luck, except for the sloppy joes.

We don't have many vegan options. I suggest doing a quick search like https://store.bariatricpal.com/pages/search-results-page?q=vegan to see our Vegan options.

And piggy-backing myself in here, found something new at my Wal-Mart. Called Purely Inspired Organic Protein Plant-based Nutritional shake still 20 gr of protein, pea/brown rice based, I got the French vanilla, I think I can sorta feel the base but quite drinkable. Not that much more than the traditionals, I have been having some dairy issues myself, think I will have no trouble drinking the 4-pack.

We tried releasing a line of pea based Protein powders but they tasted horrible and we just couldn't get it to taste awesome. I haven't given up on that project but it's not at the top of our list at the moment.

There are some great vegan Protein Shakes that only require a little bit of doctoring to make them yummy. Ripple, Vega, and tone it up are pretty good. They do need some boosting from the sugar free Torani flavors.

These are good suggestions!

You can also use Flavored Stevia to add flavor. We started selling Devotion Nutrition packets which are really awesome and much easier to carry on the go than syrops.

Thank you. I'm not vegetarian or vegan, I just get sick from whey Proteins specifically. I can have milk/yogurt/etc totally fine... but when it's a whey shake... super nauseous. I use soy Protein Shakes. I've found a few things off the bariatricpal site that I've ordered, like the lentil curry and the sloppy joe mix. I did order the oatmeal, which I believe is whey, but sometime it's hit or miss so I'm going to give it a shot!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
