What do you eat for lunch?

Recommended Posts

I am 9 weeks post-op. I need easy lunches for work. Any advice or suggestions? I do have access to a microwave.

Thanks!!

I take leftovers. Some days I'll do salads. My go to is lunch meat roll ups. 3 slices lunch meat rolled with 1/2 cheese alive in each one

I make several meats and veggies on Sundays such as ground chicken or ground turkey burgers, grilled chicken thighs and I freeze them. I’ll grab one each day and may add a slice of tomatoe to a burger or avocado, chicken I’ll bring some cauliflower rice or spinach and I usually cook seafood once a week...shrimp, scallops and fish and mix it up and take that for lunch as well. I make chicken salad and tuna salad also and usually bring multi grain crackers to eat with those. I like a variety.

Get creative and enjoy 😊

I like the Protein packs by PLANTERS P3 and Hormel Natural Choice. Both consist of chicken, turkey or ham bites with nuts and cheese....10-15 grams of protein and what you don’t eat, you can snack on later. Here’s a picture of my lunch today...170 calories

Hard boiled eggs, chili, cheese, yogurt, lunch meat. All easy for lunch.

I work at a hospital, and we have a surprisingly good sushi chef on staff, so there's fresh sushi in the cafeteria grab-and-go cooler. Today I'm having a vietnamese spring roll - crab, shrimp, and avocado wrapped in lettuce and then the whole thing is wrapped in a rice wrapper. No idea the macros, but it's minimal carbs and a fair amount of Protein and healthy fat. They come 2 to a pack, so I'll eat one for lunch today and save one for tomorrow.

I also got some hummus and cucumber slices for a snack later!

in a pinch i have these on hand as well very good and fulfilling, i know its not the best but they work. Usually it'll be left overs from the night before. I also have these lipton cup of Soup packs that are 60 calories in case i don't have something on me or change my mind with lunch, just watch the sodium. I also have the $1 pot pies from the market. they are high calorie but what i do is eat the inside and leave the crust. again these are for times i ran out the door and need a little something at work.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
