I am not sure if I am explaining it correctly but has anyone experienced a diaper rash or jock itch? After surgery? I spent 2 days in the hospital and when I got home I noticed a burning in between my thighs and round my buttocks area. I put some aquaphora on it and it is not burning anymore I just wondering if other ppl had this or should I worry. I have a follow on Wednesday.

Did they have you in a diaper? It's possible you are having a reaction to some cleaning agent they used to clean you before they inserted the catheter.

And they also give you massive antibiotics through your iv. So you could also be having a fungal/yeast break out or that stuff that causes jock itch. Can't remember the name of that fungus. But it's common with us.

I'd just call your doc's nurse and let them know and go get some jock itch cream.

@JuliaC110918 omg yes I had the same thing! I immediately called the nurse at my doctors office and asked what did they use down there and she said maybe some of the iodine used to sterilize the surgery area may have dripped down there, she suggested that I use the baby rash cream desitin and it worked. Same scenario as you, I noticed it a day or two after I got home from the hospital.

Omg thank you! I will make sure hubby picks some up for me...the aquaphora has been helping. I am so glad I am not the only one who experienced this. Thank you so much! 🤗

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
