Please share your experiences with post-weight loss body contouring surgery. I know I need to be at a stable weight but I'm planning ahead and thinking positive :)

Specifically, what was your recovery like? How much time off work did you need? Any recommendations, tips, pointers are very welcome! Share pics if you're comfortable with that!

Thanks in advance!

You might get more responses if you post this in the plastic surgery forum.

I don't think as many people read that one.

I posted a similar question there about skin tightening with lasers and got almost no responses. 😕 There is no way that no one on the forum has tried it!

So, if you are out there . .. . . Has anyone tried skintyte?

Out of all the boards I have read, I've never seen anyone talk about skin Tightening with lasers. I'm researching PS and I've never come across a single mention of it. Is it new? Maybe it is that rare!

I have seen reviews of this but mostly for women using on the face and neck area.

Most people here that have lost large amounts of weight are going to have larger amounts of skin that a laser treatment is not likely to fix.

If you look on sites like RealSelf.com you can find more reviews on this procedure.

I have seen reviews of people using lasers for body contouring "problem areas". Just wondered results on a "problem pannus" 😕

I don't think my loose skin is extreme enough to warrant surgery, but I would be happy to have a little improvement.

Just give me a few months, maybe I will be the first to review laser therapy here!

If only my pannus could use a little improvement...

Sounds interesting, following.

Oh, weeell . . . . . I have only lost half of the weight I want to. I could potentially be a real mess in another 6 months or so. I am actually hoping that lasers might help my skin shrink as I lose the next 40 pounds? That's why I posted my original question about people's experiences with lasers. Hoping to hear from other WLS patients. For sure we are a different subset of the population, with different considerations.

My skin scars up easily. I had a little skin thing removed years ago and every doctor I see says "what is THAT from!?" A stupid mole ok!

Can't even imagine what would happen if I had a skin FOLD cut off . . . . . Might end up looking like a naked zombie costume or ready for an episode of Botched. No Thanks.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
