Shew.. That first day was tough. But I got through it. I was curious to see the effects and stepped on the scale, down 2 lbs. I thought there was no way. I wanted to say thank you to everyone that gave me their advice about the liquid diet. When I felt like breaking it I went back and read the comments. I go for my final weigh in on the 29th and only need to lose 5 more lbs before then so my surgeon can send my file to my insurance company for approval. Seeing those -2lbs this morning has motivated me today and so far I'm doing great. I am more determined than ever to lose the weight and have the sleeve done. I decided to use my Instagram as a way of holding myself accountable on my journey. Feel free to follow me and I'd love to follow any of you that are doing the same.

I start my liquid diet tomorrow. Wish me luck. Your post has inspired me though. I’ll think of you tomorrow when I feel like breaking it. I can’t and I won’t. I can do this!! (I hope😬😬)

I felt the same way you do. So many thoughts went through my head. I was so afraid of failure. If I can do it anyone can. I used food as a way of dealing with my feelings and that was the hardest part for me. If you find yourself struggling and want to talk reach out to me. I’ll be more than happy to go through this with you.

Thank you so much. That is really kind of you. How do you now cope with your feelings instead of using food? I’m just beginning my liquid diet today. I’m not yet struggling but please give me some pointers on what to do when the temptation hits which I am sure it will. Thanks again.

I found that when I started to want solid food I would turn to chewing gum or sip on Water. As for coping with my feeling I workout, read a book, write, and a few other things. The main thing for me was to find positive coping skills that worked for me.

Well I can sip on Water but the chewing gum I can’t do. My surgeon’s preop is very strict and he only allows yogurt and water for the three days before surgery. I’ve pretty much made it through Day 1, I have just 2 more days of this left. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

You got this. My surgeon requires 2 weeks on the liquid diet.

Thanks for the encouragement. Now I feel like a whiner when you have to do two weeks!! Good luck my dear. I can’t wait to get this over with.

When I was on the 14 day liquid diet, the first few days were rough. One day I was really hungry but determined not to give in to my ex best friend (food). I grabbed a bottle of Water and walked to a park and four miles later, I returned home, showered, ate some Soup and went to sleep. Mind over matter every time. Ya'll are doing great... so very proud of the both of you [emoji4]

Thank you so much. food was definitely an ex best friend to me as well. I’ve been finding other things to keep me busy and have realized that through this process I ate out of boredom as well. Staying busy is a major tool I’m using through this 14 day process. I agree it is mind over matter. Personal Development books have helped with thAt. I have my weigh in on the 29th. Fingers crossed I lost enough weigh to send off to my insurance company and they approve.

Stay focused and your weigh in will go just fine.

That is great advice! I’ve been just trying to keep busy these last few days. I just want to keep my mind off of food. I’ve taken walks, done a ton of housecleaning, and I’ve prepared meals for my family to cook for dinner while I’m gone. I’m going to Mexico so I’ll be gone for 4 days. I leave Thursday!! OMG, this is seriously getting real!! I guess I’ll put up my stats since you were brave enough to put up yours.

CW (most likely SW as well): 205 Height: 5”5’

GW: 145 (would be very happy to be anywhere in the 150s though)

Thank you so much for your support and kind words!!🤗🤗

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
