Hey everyone I have a couple questions. So I'm about to have surgery on July 10th and I am about to start my 2-week liquid-only diet. Can anyone recommend a good Protein flavorless whey powder. I've tasted the clear drinks and I really do not like them. If anybody has recommendations I would appreciate the information. Also was there a lot of discomfort after the surgery? Like are you able to do normal stuff everyday? I know that I can't be lifting anything. I was also wondering if there was another person who was pre opt that might have any kind of anxiety/nerves. I haven't gotten to that point yet but I'm pretty sure that I might as I get closer to my surgery date and wouldn't mind having somebody to talk to. Thanks in advance!

The only Protein Shake I enjoy is Premiere. The first few days after surgery, you will need rest because your body needs time to heal. I was in the mall walking five days afterwards. I couldn't lift more than five pounds for six weeks, so please be careful with that. Anytime you need to talk, reach out. We're all here to help you get to the loser's bench.

Have you tried several of the Protein waters? I thought the Isopure was dreadful, but Protein20 wasn't bad.

Good luck!

I know they gave me the orange mango one to taste and I did not like it that was from the premier brand. I have always been sensitive to flavored water. So I'm trying to fine a Protein Powder that's flavorless. I can probably look into the protein20. I haven't heard of that one but I can try it.

The Premier Protein waters are horrible . Umm to answer some questions yes my nerves and anxiety came before and after surgery but don’t worry it’s apart of the process this is a major life decision you are making the better you !!! Embrace it . As for doing normal stuff everyday . After the first weeek I was good to walk , take my trash out wash dishes and all the normal household duties and I went back to work in a week lol . Taking it EASY IS IMPORTANT! Use your LEGS TO BEND ! And don’t lift anything heavier than 10lbs. Try to drink Water , Protein Shakes and eat sugar free popsicles for liquids and you will be fine

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
