I’m officially 1 week from waking up after surgery. Surgery was ok, recovery was challenging. Did not get discharged until late Friday. Starting to feel human now. No nausea,no Constipation, no hunger..I do have gut pain but only when I first sit or stand on lower right. Other than that, I think I’m doing pretty well for an old guy. All the sweet Protein makes me want to gag. Never was a sweets eater..more a meat, potatoes bar food guy..I do enjoy my sugar free popsicles though..I switched over to my Fairlife Fat free milk for my go to protein source..add chocolate Protein Powder at night as my tv watching nite cap....like I’m a kid again..weight loss is amazing to me..it is falling off daily..CRAZY

53 here, too.
Of course, I’m very, VERY young for my age! 😉
Terrific to hear things are going so well!!!

Hi Sau, We are nearly the same stats with age and weight. My surgery is currently scheduled for 6/26/18. Hopefully I am feeling well by day 7 post-op as well. I'd like to return back to my office job on day 8 post-op.

I am day 8 this morning. I could go back to a desk job today, not sure I’d be ready but I think I would need a nap at some point. I am self employed and my job involves a lot of getting up/getting down, walking ,twisting and turning. No way I could do my job yet. After working for 28 years,I took off an entire month for “me”. I’m not going back until July. My business is large enough that I can do it.

I'm happy to hear you're doing well. I'm 2 months out. I know many go right back to work, but don't be afraid to take more time for you if your job allows it. You will be concentrating on drinking Water, getting your Proteins and walking as much as you can. An afternoon nap is also helpful. This is a big life change where you need to establish new habits. When you're back at work just always keep water with you. It becomes difficult to maintain your Fluid intake when running to meetings. Best of luck to you on your journey.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
