I did well losing weight for the first two years, but then my doctor put me on gabapentin and I gained quite a bit of weight. Ultimately, I went off the Gabapentin, but now I have to figure out how to lose the weight again. Any suggestions?

walk daily , weight training 3 days a week if available

lots of Water

get your Protein daily for your size

no sugar - as close to this as you can

no simple carbs - avoid the middle of the store - shop the 3 walls - veggies , meat , dairy

highly refined foods are your worst enemy

no fruit if your weight is not going down

no Snacks after dinner

dont fear the fat it makes it easier to go longer between meals

try to go at least 12 hours from last calorie in till first calorie next day. your asleep most of this.

get enough sleep - most people don't

start day with protein and fat not carbs

good luck and i am sorry meds have set you back it is always tougher when other factors fight against you and so many meds cause weight gain

I saw amitriptyline there, awful stuff, I hate it. Gabapentin & amitriptyline... sleep issues? Sorry not my business, but I have them and have been on both for them. If so, vistaril doesn't make me gain weight, but I do Ambien too. I know A LOT about those meds, I feel like I've taken them all and weight gain because of my meds scares me too

Any time post surgery that I've gained I'll just go back to basics. Protein first. Veggies, minimal carbs, more Water and more walking. Comes off way easier than before. But i haven't taken gabapentin long enough post surgery to notice a difference tho. Also haven't taken birth control since surgery cause I'm afraid of possible gain.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
