Amarillo, TX

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Anyone know of the closest fill Dr. to Amarillo, TX? I contacted Dr. Crum here in town but he will not do fills on anyone that did not have the surgery done by him. I had my band placed by Dr. Rodriguez in Mexico. Any ideas? Thanks for your help.

I know that a number of people in the Panhandle who had MX surgery go to Dallas to Dr. Maese for fills. He is Hispanic and his father and uncle are both pioneers in the lapband field in Mexico (Monerrey I beleive) and he is very experienced and quite skilled at fills. He's in Highland Park.....Preston Cardiology Wellness Center...214-234-0330. He did all my pre-op work and all my fills - he uses flouro every time and does a good job.

Thanks Gayle. I made an appointment with Dr. Maese today. I will have to fly there but I feel much safer having him do the fill with Fluoro than the Dr. I had planned to see that does not.........AND charges the same price.

Hope it all works out well for you. I see people from lots of other cities and even other states in his office. Best wishes......

Hi there, I just moved to the Amarillo area, and contacted Dr. Crum's office. I was able to get an appointment for a fill. But it was cancelled because he is starting his own private practice, so I have to wait until January. You might want to check back with him.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
