walk, walk, walk then go on a walk

sorry that not much help but the movement helps move the gas. it can take from a few days to a week or more to get it all out and then every time you eat or drink you swallow air and it starts over again.

I promise it gets better just hang in there.

Walking, drinking my Clear Liquids, and Gas Z strips (it won't help the shoulder pain, but did help my gut gas).

Shoulder pain is usally from, leftover gas from surgery pooling up under your diaphragm. You get the referred pain in your left shoulder. I could go into a 15 minute tutorial on Embreology, anybody want to hear it? Nope didn't think so, leftover from the way you developed before birth, that's why you feel diaphragm pain in your shoulders, usually left and fall bladder pain is in upper right back and shoulder. The Bible says in Psalms that we were strange and wonderously made and the Psalmist knew what he was talking about.
There are a lot of weird feelings and twinges you'll feel after surgery but in the kind run they don't count for, much, what does matter is fittness, better health, loss of weight,, and a happier outlook on life. And lessenng of the problems obesity brings, a win win situation. You are young enough your skin will smooth out and snap back into shape. At 72 I'll have so much skin I'll look like a Shar Pei, but better a live Shar Pei than lying dead in a casket. Besides people love and pay a lot of money for Shar Peis. I could win a blue ribbon in the Recycled People Show.😨💤

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
