I had my surgery on April 12th and everything went well. I had a hiatal hernia which was fixed during the operation. I am home and still dealing with the gas pains in my left upper quadrant and wondering what else I can do besides walk. The pain gets so bad sometimes I feel that maybe there is something wrong. I also would like to know about the calorie intake. I drink one Premier Protein shake a day for the 160 calories and 30 grams of Protein and I also consume a protein-rich cream chicken Soup from the HMR program. So I am getting in at least 35 grams of protein a day plus as much Water as I can drink. When I chart it today in the bariatric app I noticed that my calories are under 350 for a day. Is this normal and I doing something wrong?

How are you feeling Raven Moonsong? What a pretty name you have chosen, is it your real name also? Its now almost a week since your surgery and you had what I'm planning. So I'm hoping to hear more about your surgery and recovery☕😛

Hello [emoji112]
I feel good other than the gas. All I can say is walk, walk, walk to help relieve the pain. Eating is no longer a "I better stop and not eat that" to " it's time for me to eat". Sipping is now the way of life and being on tune with my new pouch is a skill that needs perfecting. I took a gulp of Water yesterday and swallowed before I realized what I did. The pressure was not a happy feeling. I do not have regrets and look forward to experiencing life all over again.
Raven Moonsong is the name I legally changed to and thank you so much. [emoji287]

Thank you Raven for answering. Did you know you as well as all other bypassers are a kangaroo? Yes you are-'-for you now have a pouch. That is our little inside joke in bypass-ville, cheaper than buying, everybody a jacket.

Hi Raven I have had the worst gas pain in my upper left quadrant as well, to the point of tears one afternoon. I was 4 days out. I googled my situation and found someone that had the same problem, and suggested a heating pad on the site. Mine was in my left shoulder and neck, so I put my microwaved heat pack n there and it relieved the pain! It was almost instantaneously. It did not get rid of the gas but the pain was gone! Hope that works for you.

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
