Hello,

I was approved for surgery last Thursday and scheduled the actual surgery date for May 15th. I am beyond excited! I am pleased with how smooth the insurance approval went. It took one day to get an approval so thankfully I did not have to wait. Anyone else have surgery in May? And for those of you who have already had surgery what do I pack in my hospital bag? I am so looking forward to this next chapter in my life.

I had my surgery yesterday. I was sent home today. I packed one pair of yoga pants, a t-shirt, socks and a toothbrush. It was more than enough. PACK LIGHT!

The yoga pants were ok for me however, I probably should have packed something a little bit more loose fitting. Keep that in mind. You don’t want anything hugging your incision sites.

Hi and congratulations to everyone else with their ops scheduled in May (I'm getting VSG on 2 May - my ticker keeps saying 1 May but that might be because we here in Aussieland are a half day ahead of US?).

Quite a few of us are also chatting in the "Any MAY sleevers???" post in the gastric sleeve forum.- feel free to join us there too.

I plan to post/talk a lot in these forums to help keep myself focused and accountable. I made the decision at the start of February that I'd be having the gastric sleeve surgery (I had stopped dieting more than 10 years prior due to the rebound weight gain and mental health damage it caused me every time, focusing instead on figuring out my food intolerances, sourcing and growing nutritionally better quality food, and starting our family). Fingers crossed the lack of recent dieting works in my favour.

I still feel very strongly that all people deserve respect and I hate how aggressively anti-fat society is. While with weight loss I will get to enjoy no longer having to worry about seat widths, weight limits, limited clothing choices etc I'm still going to be angry at the systemic oppression of fat people in the modern world.

I am from Harpers Ferry WV, my surgery will be at Reston hospital in VA with Dr Fitzer.

I'm in Adelaide, capital of South Australia. Our choices for protein, meal replacements and supplements are a bit Different here, as shipping much from overseas costs a small fortune. I've been glad to find a number of newer quality products available here now though.

No she don’t but I have no choice.

I hope your journey toward your surgery stays this smooth. so many of us have had such a weird bumpy trek there., WE all get there eventually though. Do you know if you'll have a short or long liquid pre-diet before your surgery? It is strange to see each surgeon has their own. favorite plan, so many different methods. Good thing for them all -they do guide us into surgery pretty smoothly. I will be happy myself when I finally get my date.?

Thank goodness we keep getting newbies or I'd be over here all alone!? So happy for you and your fine results, but don't be a stranger. We all love you over here still?
