I saw this on a post and it seems it is used in place of saline? What is it? Does it have advantages over saline?

When folks are losing some of their fill (at each fill the practitioner should be withdrawing what's in the band to see how much is still in there, before adding more) sometimes it is used in place of the saline because it is thicker and may not leak out if there is a tiny leak in the port.

Its a thicker solution to help small leaks in the tubing. My doctor calls it weepy tubing. It works really well. I use it.

I guess it probably doesn't change the fill any since a cc is a cc?

LYnn, it changes the amount of fill based on non leakage. For example, I had in 3 ccs but with my weepy tubing it went down to 2.5 or 2.7ccs. It does make a huge difference when you are talking about restriction.
