How Many Days/Weeks Did/Do Your Stalls Last?

Recommended Posts

Stalls--we all got 'em. We all hate 'em. Whaddawe dooooooo about 'em?

How long (days/weeks) do your stalls generally last?

How do you break on through to the other side beyond the stall?

Ok, go!!!

Too many to count. My body likes to maintain. I'll go three weeks sometimes...with no change....then boom! I'm down 5 pounds within a couple days. It's bizarre.

I've tried it all. Reducing calories, upping exercise, even upping Protein and lowering carbs... nada.

For me...it's all about being patient and consistent with my plan and waiting for the sudden drops. I know that's boring....but it's the truth. Seems to be the only thing that works. Patience and consistency.

One thing that seems to coincide with my recent little drop...and this might be coincidence....but I stopped eating anything after 8pm. Herbal tea only. I'm working on sleeping better.

Ok, so maybe I will drop my bedtime bite? Last night it was 1 slice of Hillshire Farms Naturals turkey breast. 3slices=50cals. I'm like, dang! How bad can 1 slice be for me? We also eat around 7:30 or 8:00pm cuz Mr. F. usually works late.

May I respond to your question with a question? This question is really for everyone, and I think the answers might add value. When you are having a stall in weight loss, do you have a corresponding stall in losing inches from your waist/hip/whatever measurement? I've seen some people mention stalls lasting 3 weeks, a month, or even more. But did your clothes continue to get looser as the scale stayed pegged on the same number?

Good question! I don't know that my clothes are greatly different, they were pretty big and loose before. I only measure waist. And it's gone down 1/2 inch but that's probably from reduction in surgery inflammation. You know? :) So no real way to tell other than i'm at the 3 week mark. And everyone says there's a 3 week stall.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
