Had my Three Month check up

Recommended Posts

Perfect labs. That was music to my ears.

Perfect normal sugar. Perfect normal cholesterol. Perfect normal Vitamin levels. Absolutely every value was in the normal range.

When the hell has that ever happened before? It felt like a huge accomplishment.

More good news. Next month I'll be weening off my omeprazole....which will leave me on exactly one Rx medication....thyroid.

Perfect blood pressure, no meds.

Doc thinks I'm going overboard on walking. LOL. I have a little back and hip pain (greatly improved, but still reminds me its there from time to time) that he thinks would benefit if I cut down to 12,000 steps a day. I might bump up my swimming...which he thought was a fair.

I'm currently on a stall. Probably menstrual bloat. Doc is satisfied with my weight loss, thinks I'm doing great.

Saw nutritionist, too...no major changes. She laughed at my new love of oatmeal.

Best news of all: No more appointments...for three freakin months!!!! Whew! Man, that feels good.

I feel like this year has been one constant doctor's appointment.

Feels good to be free of the poking and prodding for a while:)

Oh congrats girlie!!! That's a FABulous report!!! I'm so thrilled for you and thrilled that you're doing so well! You're an inspiration to so many of us!!! (Sorry about the back and hip pain though! I bet the water-cizing will help it!)

I love that your doctor is negotiating with you about your exercise -- bet s/he doesn't do that often!

Fantastic news @Creekimp13

I am at week 11 and had early bloods because of regular slightly odd bruising. And like you - the results are damned near perfect! Good sugars, Iron, B12, cholesterol. What a kick! (The bruising - they put down to me being more active, but we are keeping an eye on it.)

Great news! It is SO nice when you ease into only seeing the surgeon’s people once a year. I do my PCP in March and the bariatric people in October. It beats the hell out of monthly appointments!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
