Also noted: they recommend sublingual B12. It is a small pill, tastes good.

We use 500mcg. I just get regular and munch it up...it's tastless.

I had surgery September 6th 2017 so I am 5 1/2 months post op.

They recommended B12 shots once a month for me. I took the first shot and decided I didn't need any more. They said they were giving them to me to help me keep my energy up. I have never had a problem with energy level, even right after surgery.

I had blood work done recently and my B12 level was 611 the normal range is 213 - 816 so I am normal even without any B12 supplements.

My doc has me doing 1000mcg shots once a week. I was so nervous giving myself a shot at first but it’s really not that bad.

I've been taking sublingual once weekly but it's still high. so I stopped. surgeon didn't seemed concerned.
annual physical in a couple of weeks.
I'm getting greater than 2000. so may be some thing else. or just residual of the last weekly sublingual pill. hopefully.

I'd really be disgusted if after all of this to have leukemia or something. 58 yo, gb/RNY opp 04/11/16. diabetic remission, high blood pressure is now good, cholesterol is now good, weight is excellent. could gain about 10 lbs (who'd have thunk?) down about 200 lbs. 58 year old male.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
