Question for post op

Completely. Most likely head hunger. Just stick to your plan. About 5 days post, I was actually hungry. Some get hungry and some don’t. Be sure to listen to your stomach, not your head.

Thank you it’s good to know I’m not out here alone on that!

The Myth that everyone loses their appetite. God, I wish people would stop perpetuating this.

It's true that some people lose their appetite for months. Some folks are nauseated and have a tough time.

But many MANY folks could eat their own leg off right after surgery they're so freaking hungry after the starvation liquid diet.

Real hunger can be cured by healthy food choices.

"Head hunger" is when you've had healthy food but you still want a Big Mac with a donut chaser.

One is physiological...one is mental.

After surgery, you're quite literally starving.

I have just got sleeved Monday! I’m home now and feeling pretty good, but I seem to feel hungry for everything even though My stomach could never take it! Is this normal?

Hey justagrirl77, how is it going 2 weeks later? Feeling any better?

Make sure to keep drinking lots of Water, >80 oz per day. I went thru a stall recently for 7-10 days, even gained 1 pound. I was getting the same hunger feelings, just wasn't drinking enough water. Increased my Crystal Light intake the past week or so and I'm back to losing weight again. Give it a try!

I’m feeling much better just tired..I also am still feeling hungry especially when my family eats their food! But you have some good advice and I will try to get more fluids....I try to drink b4 I go to eating something because a lot of people say it’s not hunger but that u need something to drink!

My procedure is in 2 days and I was wondering about this. Head hunger will definitely be an issue for me [emoji15]

It truly is there...but what I do is measure out exactly what I’m suppose to have and set a timer for 30 seconds in between each bite...it helps me to fill up much faster...eating slow is definitely the key...also try to stick to low carb stuff it will help you out!

That’s awesome advice thank you! I’m so anxious. Haven’t slept for days [emoji15]

It’s hard to sleep when your surgery date is getting close...I don’t think I slept a wink the night before, but it will be here and gone before you know it! Rest up cause being in the hospital you won’t get any rest!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
