Hi everyone I currently have Anthem Blue Cross *** and one of the requirements is "the individual must have serially documented active participation in a non-surgical weight reduction regimen for at least 6 continuous months, in the 2 years prior to surgery." So my question is can obgyn appointments count for this requirement cause in 2015 during my pregnancy i was considered obese while pregnant so my doctor had me just watch what I ate and he just weighed me every prenatal visit. I did sorta watched what I ate and ended up gaining about 5lbs throughout my pregnancy. Am I able to use this as my 6 month supervised diet? I'm just curious to see if anyone else has used there obgyn visits? I really dont want to do the 6 month diet cause i'm such an impatient person.

No, you'll have to do the 6-month diet with your surgeon's office, sorry. No wiggle room with BCBS. Don't miss any appointments or you'll have to start over... not that I would know from personal experience or anything...

I have Anthem. The 6 months can be with your primary dr. You do need to have an appointment every month and if you miss a month you have to start over. Make sure they are documenting that you discuss weight loss and diet and exercise.

Hey 2018 is 3 years from 2015. Knowing Anthem's devious little mind, and anyone who has dealt with them does, they probably will disallow it. That's why in Ohio we call them Anthem Doublecross.

They are not devious there are standards. People who want to go against their standards are the deviant ones. Follow the rules.

You are not ready for this most if not all of us had to go thru a process. What makes you think you would be any different. Patiences is virtue and you may want to work on developing or you will remain fat and unhealthy!!

Have a great Wednesday too! Sorry you're hungry all the time, I'm pretty much the same..and I'm sick of eating the same food all the time.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
