Thanks so much for the advice!! I’m glad I’m not the only one in the same boat and you made me feel sooo much better about the Fluid intake! I feel like with this surgery I will take moderation! I know that once I can I will let myself take small bites of things now and then because if I don’t then I will end up going crazy! When were you sleeved? so glad things have been going good for you!

Sleeved on January 18.

Sounds like me with the Water & shakes. Never a problem. I can chug a lot of Water & have been drinking 2 liters or more since 2 days out. I consider myself lucky. I also get it with the food. I’m on puréed until the 22nd & I have take a few bites of soft foods but chewed it real well. I suggest a good blender if you don’t already have one. I was told I can purée nearly anything I want as long as I only eat half a cup every 3 hours & no that doesn’t mean cake lol but I have had a slice or pizza on Super Bowl Sunday & a burrito in chili another time. Other than that it’s mostly Campbell’s Chunky Soup. Everything I eat has Taco Bell Fire Sauce on it. I use a Vitamix & it is the Bomb! It puree’s awesome!

I like that FluffyChix finds this amusing! 😂

Anyone having pain in the ribcage area when they inhale deeply?

Also, anyone having non stop hunger pangs/pains even when full? This is affecting my sleep.

Sleeved 2/1/18.

Did they have you do breathing exercises after surgery? I’m a little sore in the ribcage when I breathe deeply as well. I contribute that to the soreness my lungs felt after they took the tube out. Have you been passing gas regularly?

Yes they did. I still do it at home too. I just wanted to make sure it's normal. Yes, I pass gas regularly.

Oh good! I would just keep making sure that your lungs don’t get worse. Has anyone had any pain on their right side as well? It feels like muscle soreness on both sides.

Omg I took some GasX chewables and the pain is gone!!! Sweet relief! Thanks for the correct diagnosis.

I haven't had any side pains. Are you sleeping wrong?

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
