What was for breakfast this morning?

Recommended Posts

I have one egg with American cheese, and 1 piece of bacon every morning. I've worked myself up to a jumbo egg and 2 pieces of cheese, but I have done the same thing since I was allowed to have eggs during the food stages.

I boringly have a premier protien shake with coffee most every morning. Sometimes on the weekends i make a one egg omelet with morning star fake bacon and cheese. The omelet ends up cold before i can even finsh half...so its not something i do too often.

Today was my mom's birthday, so she and I went to brunch at a favorite restaurant. I got this beautiful plate with Two eggs Benedict and hash browns and fruit. It's very naughty, but an absolute favorite.

I ate most of one half muffin worth of Eggs Benedict. It was amazing. And a strawberry. And a tiny bite of Mom's birthday dessert.

Had to put the other muffin half with egg, ham and hollandaise in a box...with all of the hashbrowns and most of the fruit.

We stopped at my brother's on the way home and my nephew scarfed it down. Was very happy he did, since cold Eggs Benedict sounds kinda awful. Kid zapped it in the microwave and didn't care that the yolk cooked. LOL

The hollandaise is insanely rich, but given that I didn't even touch the hashbrowns and only ate one...I feel ok about it:)

Made curry chicken for dinner with a cucumber salad. Lighter carb free dinner balanced it all out. Daily calories and Protein were within legal limits.

And got eight miles of walking in...so feeling positive about the day's diet in spite of it.

When I started dieting in June of last year...it was hard for me to get 8000 steps in a day...which for me is a little over 3 miles.

I've been increasing my steps a little at a time for over 6 months and I'm up to about 18.000 per day...which is between 7 and 8 miles. (a little different for each person depending on your height and stride length).

So yeah...I'm talking all day, all the little walks added up. I don't walk it all in one sitting..lol:)

But the walking really has made a tremendous difference for me.

It doesn't matter if you have to start at 5000 steps, or even 3000 steps. Just start walking and tracking your progress. You'll be amazed that each day you become a little more fit. Add steps as you can tolerate them.

My Fitbit is one of my most valued tools:)

Today's Breakfast was weird. I had vegetable Soup. Homemade. Thickened with pea Protein Powder and brown rice Protein powder. With crunchy wasabi peas on top like crackers. LOL.

Odd breakfast, but it was good. I love homemade veggie soup. Had it for a snack this afternoon, too:)

I rotate through pretty much the same three or four things. A one egg omelet with .5oz mozzarella cheese and .5oz diced ham.

A hardboiled egg, sometimes with a tiny bit of butter.

Scrambled egg with mozzarella cheese.

Sometimes I have a Jimmy Dean Turkey Sausage Patty or add the sausage crumbles instead of ham.

I'm very content with the breakfast...it's funny to wake up looking forward to it when I have it every day! :)

We are breakfast doppelgängers! I also do a premier with coffee (usually decaf) most mornings and mix it up with an omelette on Saturday mornings. It’s worked well for me for the past 6 months, so I’m sticking to it! I really love the chocolate premier/coffee combo, to the point that I look forward to it. A couple days a week a top it with some whipped cream, which is heavenly.

I had some coffee, which I'm not supposed to have for another six months or so, with milk, because we're out of half and half. Then, after waiting the obligatory half hour, I had two little Jimmy Dean frittata things--they look like muffins but they're eggs, bacon, and spinach. Very easy in the microwave.

Yesterday it was one egg--I still can't eat two--and three small pieces of turkey sausage and an English muffin (another sin). I'm living in someone else's home and I'm surrounded by evil temptations--I'm moving next week and will be much, much better in a house without so much forbidden stuff around.

Sure, this may be a weak excuse. Or I'm weak. Whatever--I'm basically okay with my rate of loss and expect to lose as much again (my doctor's expectation) or more (my expectation). To some extent, I'm trying to find a way to eat that will work forever. So sometimes the carbs will sneak in. Mostly the drive to get in sufficient Protein doesn't leave much room for them.

It was Sunday morning so I made Protein pancakes flavored with flaxseed and cinnamon and topped with maple Syrup and Peanut Butter. Now I’m too full to move!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
