C pap difficulties

Recommended Posts

It is hard to sleep with a CPAP machine and a cold. Do you have the full face mask or nasal pillows? I have the full face mask because the the nasal one was annoyingly uncomfortable. Have you spoken to your sleep doctor about the recent difficulties? Your machine may need some adjustment. Have you replaced air filters regularly?

I have the nasal pillows and have found they're very easy to wear when I have a cold. My wife has the full mask and can't wear it at all when she has a cold.

Damn! Hope you feel better soon!!! I second/third calling your doc or sleep clinic and asking what you should do? They might be able to look at your program if you have one of those smart reporting systems and make adjustments for you. ((hugs)) Hang in there hon!

I've had a c pap machine for about 6 weeks; things were fine in the beginning but I find myself rebelling against it and on a couple nights took it off,in the middle of the night. It probably doesn't help that I've got a head cold right now. Help.

I had mine recalibrated by my sleep center. After losing weight, the pressure requirements changed a lot. I'd see about getting an in home sleep study.

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
