popsicles, yes or no?

Recommended Posts

Hey all - with surgery on the 23rd, starting to stock up on things I might need and make grocery lists. My info from my program talks about sugar-free Jello and popsicles for the full liquid phase and I've heard a few folks talking about them. I'm not normally a popsicle person - I can't remember the time I bought any. Are they really helpful/more satisfying than sipping Water or crystal light? I can get the jello idea - something with some mouth feel.

Thanks in advance!

My friend had VSG a year ago and swears by the sugar free popsicles! She still has them as a staple in her new diet. I’m sure your mileage may vary, but I’m planning on having them around pre and post op.

Yes! I loved having them, especially in the first days post op. They go down different than a sip of crystal light. I still like having them.

It's summer here and there are a few hot days coming up, I think I'm going to get some sugar free Popsicles.

Thanks for the suggestion :)

Best wishes for your upcoming surgery.

Yes, they were a life saver for me. Many of the Crystal Light flavors I loved prior to surgery tasted awful afterwards. My taste buds were all over the place in the first month after surgery. The popsicles were a huge help in getting a bit more fluids in and having something "to do" since I couldn't stand my Protein Shakes or give any thought to actually eating food. While I stopped with the popsicles about 6 weeks after surgery they were a big help to have in the early days.

I made my own. After surgery everything was too sweet or too salty. I used watered down 4c sticks with Water. They were good! End of summer i found a popsicle maker at Walmart for $0.50!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
