Post Gallbladder Squirting

Recommended Posts

Public service announcement: if you don’t like talking about bowel movements, please don’t read any further. So 6 months after my DS I had to have my gallbladder removed laparoscopically. Well I thought all my problems were solved. Not! [emoji19]. So I’m right at 10 months post op DS and I am was us to have 4-5 five soft brown bowel movements daily. Post gallbladder movement especially within the last 3 months I have noticed I’m having 6-7 dark green pain bowel movement that wake me up at night at least 3 times and they are loose and grainy. Well I have increased my Fiber. Added Imodium to try to at least get through the night. Took pepto, gas x, nexium, and zofran for nausea. Finally, I decided to speak with a GI health care professionals that first I should never be getup that many times at night and if it’s loose and green I’m leaking bile salts from my gallbladder being missing and since my small intestines aren’t able to absorb my colon is going haywire basically. So long story short it’s medication for this. Wechol, Colestid, or Questran. Speak with your health care provider. Your don’t have to suffer the squirts unnecessarily.

Wow!! I'm so sorry that you have had all of the S**TY stuff. I had my gallbladder removed in 1980 after my daughter was born. I suffered from the back door trots all the time, I knew every bathroom in every store I went to. I would eat and within 15 to 30 minutes I would be in the bathroom. This went on for 12 years, then I had my GBladder removed. Still pooping big time. Noone said one word of having to watch your fats and sugar!! After my RNY I tend to go the other end of the Spectrum. More Constipation. After a quack, Dr told me I had an ulcer and treated it with meds. But never stopped my pain from it. (gallbladder) I have never heard what has happened to you. Do they think it is was caused by your WLS? Man, I hope you get better soon. BTW even tho my Gallbladder has been gone for 36Years, I can still have what my mom called Phantom pains!!! Good Luck sending huge hugs!!!

The gallbladder issue was caused from the weight loss. My weight loss surgeon did the procedure. As far as the phantom pains [emoji848]? That’s a question for your provider. I don’t have any gallbladder pains just the shits 🤣. So you might want to see what’s going on. Thank you

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
