Gastritis and hiatal hernia

Hey everyone so I did my endoscopy yesterday and the doctor discovered I have a mini hernia and gastritis he has prescribed nexium pre-surgery wondering if anyone else has similar situation and if they did well after VSG surgery I don't want any complications I'm scheduled for surgery December 13 I'm approved for VSG got this far I really want this surgery without compromising my health plz let me know

Ty the hernia is so small the doctor said he would debate whether or not to fix once he's inside he'll determine I'm more concern about the gastritis cuz most VSG patients have complained about that post surgery and I'm guessing if I already have it! It would get worse he gave me nexium but I don't want to continue to take pills the rest of my life
