I am not at a month post RNY just yet and all I have been released to do is walking, and I am doing it for someone who barely got 3000 steps before I am no averaging 5000 so I am pretty proud of myself.

My question for all of you is what exercises did you start with? I see a lot of people who say that now they run marathons and are darn near experts at yoga but way back when, when you had just started out what did you do? What was the first thing after walking that you started with and how was it, how did it feel?

I'm not there yet, surgery date Dec. 14th. I have been swimming for years. Uses every muscle in your body, easy on joints and good cardio. I know what your thinking, me in a swim suit? NO WAY! I thought that too at first, but unless your under the age of 16 or a paid model no one looks that great in swim wear. Go to Coolibar web site. I wear swim capris under my suit. After WLS I intend to weight train, and Tai Chi. Best of luck to you :-)

I did lots of walking right after surgery, now I'm almost three months post op and I'm starting Zumba classes and functional training.

I swim all the time the swim suit thing is never really bothered me mainly because I competitive swam all the way up until my early twenties unfortunately though my doctor says that is off the table for a few months because they worry about leakage which one you think about it is incredibly gross because you happen to know what's in the pool Water so think of that kind of seeping its way through your cuts and entering your internal body I mean that's really the stuff that nightmares is made of right

That's right, I had to wait 3 months after knee replacement to get back in the Water. I don't think I will ever give it up. The good thing about swimming, you can swim your whole life. Age and skill is not a factor. I'm 59 years old, so weight baring exercise is important and core training is a must. I fully intend to join cross fit and learn Tai Chi :-)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
