Hello I'm 26yrs old and I had the sleeve done on Aug 29, 2017... when I started this journey i weighed 299lbs and now I am 250lbs My surgery went great and I stuck to my diet my Dr told me. I'm to the point where I can eat pureed and soft foods. I get full very quickly but 2 hrs later I'm hungry again. Like my stomach makes the craziest noises and has that empty feeling. I been sticking to high Protein and either very little sugar (6g at the most) or none at all if possible. I even been taking my adipex again thinkin it will help. I am to the point where I'm just not losing anything now. I'm very stressed out about it bc I don't want this to be it. I been working hard and seeing that I'm fluctuating between 249 to 252. Is there anything I can do to help lower the numbers again? I do work out and I'm always on my feet at work being that I'm a hairstylist in a busy area. I just don't know if how I'm feeling is normal and if I'm supposed to be eating like this. I can really use a mentor to help me succeed and do the right things.

Had my sleeve on August 31st also. I weighed in at 211 three weeks later I'm at191. 20lbs down. I haven't lost weight in a few days and I'm not too concerned. Surgeon tells me I wasn't too heavy to begin with and I will probably loose another 20lbs in a few months. My main goal for the sleeve was to get off of my diabetes and heart meds. i take so many meds it would only be a few years when my liver and kidneys would fail. Since leaving the hospital all my diabetes meds were discontinued and my BP med was reduced. I'm hoping on my next visit with my cardiologist discontinues my cholesterol meds.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
