I'm 319 lb with 116lb excess lb's to loose. My doc suggested I consider a by pass surgery but I'm only interested in the sleeve. He says I will only reach 207 with the sleeve. I'm okay with that, not thrilled but t okay.

Anyone 300+ lb with a sleeve? What are your friends outcomes??? Thanks!

Haven't had it yet but when I talked to my doc he didn't seem bothered by my 330 body and doing a sleeve. Don't know if he thinks I'll lose enough during the pre surgery diet or what but that's what he and I decided to shoot for.

I'm confused. You wanna lose 116 but 207 isn't "thrilling?" I think we're missing something. Regardless, not even a Dr can give you a hard and fast stopping point when it comes to this. They can get in the ballpark, but no way can he give you an exact number. Do what feels right, not what's forced. Good luck!

When I started my sleeve journey I was 330lbs granted I am 5'8 but still a lot of weight to be carrying around. With my pre op diet and being 2 weeks post op I have lost about 44 pounds in 5 weeks. No matter what surgery you get you're the one that's going to have to put the work in to reach your goals. The surgery is going to help you a lot but you can lose as much weight as you want to. If you feel like the sleeve is the choice for you all you have to do is put the extra work in to make sure your giving your body everything it needs to thrive. But Goodluck on your journey!!!

Your doctor's projections are based on statistical averages. There are several factors which are predictive of where you will fall on the weight loss curve, from genetic markers, age, gender, co-morbidities, etc.

You should discuss this with your doctor. I started at 335, 5'8", 50 year old female with a pre-diabetic A1C level.

The statistical prediction was that I would fall somewhere around 200 lbs but suspected I had some factors in my favor that would put be on a higher end of the weight loss curve.

We shall see, I am 4 months out including 10 day preop diet and down 82 lbs which puts me at approximately 50 pct of excess weight loss.

The biggest benefit for me has been the regulation of hunger hormones due to the surgery. The restriction has been the secondary benefit.

Hello,

My weight on Nov 14, 2016 (the day of surgery) was 306. I am currently at 209 pounds and it's been 10 months since my sleeve surgery. Last month I lost almost 15 pounds. I am 5'7" and 46 years old.

My doctor says he expects me to reach 160 pounds at around the 2 year mark. So I sould continue to lose weight even though the rate at which I lose it will slow.

I am thrilled with the weight loss and if I didn't lose anymore, I would actually be okay with that.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
