Need to find inexpensive bariatric vitamins. HELP!

Recommended Posts

Surgeons all say different things it seems. There is no real gold standard. I think a lot of it depends on your weight, blood profile, Vitamin deficiency's, etc. We are all different. It probably would not hurt to have a complete blood panel done and go from there. My surgeon told me the other day to take 2 Flintstone chewables a day. That's it. I also take Vit D3, Iron and B12 supplements.< br>

I had this for awhile. They sent me shakes and Vitamins covered by my insurance!

If your Dr says you need Calcium and Iron pills you need calcium and iron. Most women that are still menstruating will need them.

I use the Celebrate chewables and melts. Ordered off Amazon. Runs about $25 a month, although you have to order about 3 months supply at a time.

Sent from my XT1575 using BariatricPal mobile app

I say do whatever your surgeon tells you to do. Plus, you should take your bloodwork on a regular basis. If your labs look good, just keep doing whatever you're doing. There are some Vitamin and mineral deficiencies that won't show up right away and will take possibly years to show in labs.

We sell almost every brand of Bariatric vitamin in our BariatricPal Store:

You can use code this code for 10% off your order: BARIATRIC10

We also offer % off on a regular basis if you subscribe to any item.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
