I was banded in 2013. My starting weight was 226 and my lowest was 149. I have had nothing but problems with my band since the beginning. Back and forth to the doctor, a lot of discomfort and pain and just a rough quality of life the past few years with eating. For 2 years, I was a consistent 155, but could not seem to lose any more weight and the number this last year has crept up to 170! I want to get a revision, but I'm afraid I'm not "obese enough" to have it. Any help on this topic would be so appreciated. I'm terrified to have nothing and regain all my weight so i continue living like this....please help.

I am currently in the same boat as you! My band failed in December, had to have emergency surgery to take it out. After going form 223 down to my lowest of 145 I have now crept back up to 172! I am so frustrated and I have seen a doc for revision to sleeve, my insurance won't pay for it however because I am also not considered "obese"! I will probably be self pay, but Im frustrated with the insurance as it was a failure and I should qualify for coverage of revision! LMK how you make out!

I'm in that position and just got approved through a rigorous process. I've gained half my weight back. My bmi is 37 now so I qualify. But a few months ago when I was down to 190,, I didn't qualify

Also they had to look at multiple things like I was vomiting from band being too tight, weight loss was from vomiting and a lot of exercising along with inability to eat.
I have port pain, unsteady weight as it goes up and down. Also having other joint issues etc

I had the sleeve on September of 2012. I lost most of all my weight and loved my band. Never had any issues. Then in August of 2013 I started having a pain in my lower left side. My job I'm up and down a lot so it never registered with me I only had the pain when I would sit. After a million test to see what was wrong with me I finally went to see my band surgeon. The pain was lower than my port. In December I had the band moved over. Dr said that the port was sitting on a muscle and that was why I was having the pain. After surgery I still had pain I went back to visit my doctor and he told me that the insurance would not pay for me to have another weight-loss surgery due to the fact that my BMI was too low. I asked him to ask them anyway because I was having it due to complications from a surgery they already paid for not for bariatric reasons. Sure enough less than a week later insurance approved to have my band removed and they paid for the sleeve. I had Blue Cross Highmark and they paid for me to have 3 surgeries.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
