My surgery is Monday as well, but I only have a week diet, so I'm on day 4. Sometimes of the day I want to gouge my eyes out I'm so hungry, but it usually passes pretty quickly. How strict is your diet, not sure I could make 2 week on this.

Day 2 post-op. It was tough getting comfy in hospital and being interrupted for vitals but today at home is better. I couldn't pee for several hours even after walking around so I did a catheter once and that was enough to do the trick.

Lastly, know your game plan at home. It takes a good hour to drink my Protein shake! That was like a workout itself. I was exhausted today but did everything right so I expect tomorrow to feel like myself again (at least in my head)!

It's been a week ago today since my surgery. It hasn't been easy with the food cravings in my head. And I'm having trouble getting my Water and Protein intake in. My dietician says that's normal. I hope so. I'm in the losers club down 18 pounds!!! My stomach hurts when I sip, but I'm not giving up. I'm loving the new me I'm becoming more and more each day. Rock on August sleevers!!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
