My surgeon knows how hard it is to get fluids in right after surgery and he knows nutritional help for healing is non existent because stomach surgery, so he has everyone receive an IV the next day with a Meyers Cocktail Vitamin and mineral infusion in it. And if you are local you can come in weekly for more.

If you've been having as hard a time as I am getting enough Fluid in, see if you can't find a place you could get a vitamin and mineral infused IV to help you avoid dehydration. I got another today, a week out from surgery, and it helped me feel so much better, and it has to help me heal. I've gotten my Protein in for the past two days, but I haven't met my Water needs yet. This will really help, and I feel better already. I plan on doing it once a week until I am getting all my fluids in orally. Today the place I found did it for $150 which is less than the food I would have eaten all week would have cost, right?

This is good but...

You have to use your sleeve or it stays swollen. It is a kind of use it out lose it kind of thing.

If I don't feel well or I am stressed and don't eat, my sleeve tightens like a drum and I am 2 years from surgery.

The only way you get to the point that you can eat or drink more is by eating and drinking more.

So don't depend on this IV infusions and stop trying as hard to get your fluids and nutrition in.

I mean, I don't see a problem with this at all as long as you don't substitute it for drinking Water. I'm confused on what the OP would be skipping by doing this besides water.

OP: How much water are you getting in a day?

I think this sounds great! I do Vitagene and it's AWESOME, they give me my monthly Vitamins based on how my last blood test results were. It's so great to know my Vitamins are covering me completely and evaluated every 3 months.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
