They won't give me a time until the day before. How's everyone doing with their preop diet? What is your specific preop diet? Also what is your current weight?

I have to call the day before to verify my time. I am 47 yo and my CW is 262 HW (start of pre-op diet) is 272 (my actual HW is 280). My diet is a Protein Shake for Breakfast and lunch and a lean cuisine for dinner. I can have up to 3 Snacks (hardboiled egg, string cheese or a salad with 1 tbsp or a sugar-free popsicle). It's going well so far. I am down 10 lbs in 3 days.

I forgot to mention my own info. I just turned 40 this month. My highest weight ever was 423. Before preop diet started I was 414. 3 days in, I'm down to 412. My goal weight is 190 or under. I'm 5'5". I forget my BMI. My diet is low carb 80-100gm or less per day, at least 60gm Protein daily, low fat and 80-96 oz Fluid each day. No caffeine, no carbonated beverages. 2 days before I'm on Clear Liquids. I'm having mine done on Kingsport, TN How about y'all?

HW - 271 (started process in Feb)

Current - 246

Surg - Aug 1 (No time until day before)

-----

Two week diet prior: B/L/D - Protein Shake with 1/4 cup of fruit. With dinner, add 2 cups veg. Can have Protein shake with s/f Popsicle for lunch. Also, there was another choice with more regular food options, but this keeps it streamlined and easy to follow. 7th day of it...doing great, don't feel deprived.

You nervous or anything like that yet?

I've been kind of emotional on this preop diet.

I can't believe we're all so close. I'm excited today!

My date is Aug 4 and I'm super nervous and crabby.

Started my pre-op diet on Friday and it sounds like one of the more extreme ones: 3 high Protein drinks/shakes a day, 2-3 Snacks of yogurt, sf pudding, cream of Tomato Soup (so random!); and fluids include clear broth, sf Jello, Tomato juice, no caffeine tea/coffee, flat diet soda. It's going to be a long 14 days, but I feel a little better each day I'm on it--just very fatigued.

I plan to make my own tomato Soup today--I'm not so crazy about eating packaged foods.

I've also not been able to get a clear answer about the sugar free stuff. I cut artificial sweeteners out of my life several years ago,(it has helped enormously with reducing headaches and stabilizing my mood) trying to only eat stevia or Monkfruit based ones if unavoidable. However, the pre/post diet seems to include so many. I've asked a couple of the nutritionists if it's a calorie thing or a metabolism thing and I get mixed answers. Some say it's okay to find low sugar things, some say no sugar because of dumping (even before surgery) so I'm kind of confused. I'm just limiting the sf jello products to when I'm desperate, and I don't drink things like crystal light.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
