Has anyone else gotten a second fill? I got mine on Monday the 8th. Lot easier knowing what to expect. I had it filled a little bit tighter, cause I was eating myself out of house and home. Well it is tight. Water and liquids go down as long as I sip. Other foods in miniscule bites and ~100 chews. Now I know I will start losing weight again. I might be a little uncomfortable for a week or so til I loose weight and it loosens up. Or at least that is my plan. Hope it works

I am having my first fill on Monday. I feel you on eating myself out of house and home. :hungry: I can't wait. So, is that how the fills work. It is only tight until you lose weight and then you have to get another fill? And if that is the case, why would you need to have fill removed? I am a little confused about this process. Any information you can share would be appreciated. Also, will I be able to drive myself home after the fill?

After I had my first fill, I didn't feel any restriction, but my surgeon must have worked miracles when he put the thing on, cause I rarely get hungry. I have only had one fill, but I was certainly able to drive myself home (all 6 hours worth of the drive). For me it didn't hurt just a little wierd when you feel like you have barium hovering in your throat while the band was overfilled. She then pulled someout obviously, but after that brief experience I knew I didn't want to overeat. Nothing like the wonderful taste of barium and starting to slime all at the same time. :speechles MMM good. Hope this answered one of your questions.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
