Hi Where in NY are you? I'm getting the sleeve in 7 days ....are you glad you got it?

I live on Long Island. I'm so happy with t. The first 4 days I was miserable but that's normal. After that hump, I've been great! I'm down 26 lbs in a month and a half (including pre-op). I'm eating better foods. I feel good. And I'm excited to continue seeing results!

Craving a cheeseburger steak and hot wings lol but when I can I'll find a way to make pulled buffalo chicken

I took two chicken breasts, covered them with wing sauce, and put them in my slow cooker for about 5 hours. They were juicy and shredded easily. I put the meat in a plastic container, added some addition wing sauce and shook it up to coat evenly. Tonight I took a couple of ounces, put it in a bowl with some more wing sauce and a sprinkling of cheddar cheese. 40 seconds in the microwave and I had tangy buffalo chicken. My stomach had no problem with the spice (YMMV).

I am at the soft food stage - shredded chicken is one of the "allowed" foods. Next week I can try low-carb wraps.

I cant imagine a life without bread. or Bagels. or pizza... my life will be over lol

You will live trust me ...lol.. seriously bread does not have to be a part of our diets anymore. I won't be eating it anymore. There are lots of other options that are healthier.

Yum I really want one with cheese lettuce and avocado

I tried a low card flax seed wrap a couple of weeks ago with fajitas. I ended up just eating the fajitas. The wrap was delicious but too filling. I don't think our stomachs have room for that stuff right now.

My clinic dietician actually scolded me for not eating ENOUGH carbs once I was on solid foods and made it a goal for me to eat whole grain crackers or toast once a day. I try to choose options that also have Protein if I can. Follow the advice of your dietician and/or surgeon, as plans vary wildly.

I'm also in New York. I'm upstate in the Binghamton area and I'm so happy I chose this journey. Life is so much better thus far. I'm 6 1/2 months out almost and I am down 97 pounds total. Life Changer.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
