The amount of sugar will probably vary by patient.

I strictly avoid processed sugars. I have a sweet tooth and that is one of the major causes that contributed to my weight gain over my lifetime. I limit myself to artificial sweeteners (such as Splenda and sugar alcohols), to natural low calorie sweeteners (such as Stevia) and to the natural sugars found in fruits and milk. I had diabetes. That went into remission when I left the hospital two days after surgery and I have not taken any diabetic medicine ever since and my blood sugar levels are good. I test my blood sugar levels periodically. I read the labels of all food that I consume. I look at the grams of sugar per serving. If it is above 5 grams, I look at the ingredients. The ingredients are listed in order by highest percentage, and if the first 5 ingredients contain processed sugar (in any of its many forms), then I avoid this food, like a plague.

Only 30% of folks have dumping after surgery, I've never had it but I do find my body doesn't like too much sugar. I avoid cakes and Cookies and ice cream and all the usual junk that got me fat in the first place. thankfully, I don't crave it.

I do suck on life saves and other hard candies from time to time and it's never caused me any issues at all.

I feel deathly ill when I eat some foods at times - and other times the same foods don't make me as sick.
I was just wondering if it was because of the sugar content in my body at the time Ect....
for example - I snuck a small scoop of Peanut Butter and now feel horrible.
Hot, shaky, stomach cramps, gassy, nauseous. Every. Ow and again it happens and it usually happens with high carb or sugar foods but not high fat foods.
Generally I eat well ( Proteins and veggies ) but I have noticed this. Also, I think Vitamins may upset me also??

Is dumping diarrhea or puking? Our is everybody different when it comes to dumping

Sent from my SM-G935P using BariatricPal mobile app

It can vary for each individual, but yes dumping can be in the form of diarrhea, vomiting, shakes, sweats, cramping/pain, rapid heartbeat, etc. It happened to me a few times when I had some hot chocolate. Now I try to dilute with Water and drink only half of the cup.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
