Any one in north Texas?

Recommended Posts

I am in pre op having surgery in 9 days and I'm terrified/excited and would really love someone to talk to and help me with this journey! Any one in the DFW area?

I'm just outside of Fort Worth, had surgery 7/6 and am new to the group. Would love to have someone to talk to as well if you are able.

I am absolutely available! Would love to have someone to talk to as well! I am right next to lewisville and grapevine. Just moved to Texas a year ago so I don't know much about location. How are you feeling so far?

Hey there!! I'm doing ok, it's definitely a struggle to get all the Protein and hydration I need and I've been super weary of trying to introduce soft solids for fear of dumping syndrome. I'm about 45 minutes SW of FW but I used to live in Grapevine a few years ago so I've got a good idea of where you're at. How are you doing?

Hello! I’m doing ok, it’s up and down but I’m feeling better as I lose pounds. It never seems fast enough but I keep that in perspective! How are you doing?

For sure! I completely get, it always feels like the weight is coming off so slowly. I’m doing really well, feeling a lot better and I’m going on 9 months post op. I’ve lost a little over 100 pounds and have been really working out a lot and trying to stay active while eating right.

hi!! i am doing really well. My biggest struggle is getting enough Protein and Water everyday. I'm also having a really hard time remembering to take my Vitamins everyday. Do you guys ever stand up too quickly and black out? That's been happening to me lately! I am 10 days shy of 4 months out from surgery and have lost a total of 105 lbs. (I lost 40 lbs in preparation for surgery). I am hoping to lose 30-40 more lbs. I am hoping I can do it but a little in disbelief that it could be possible. Then again if you had asked me 4 months ago if I thought I would be down 100 lbs I would of said heck no!

Hey yall! My name is Adam and I'm in Weatherford, which is 30 minutes west of Fort Worth. I had the RNY Gastric Bypass back on September 26. I'm struggling bad with trying to stay away from fast food. I've already stretched my stomach out some :-( Have yall had any trouble about staying away?

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
