Dumping??

Recommended Posts

Hi sorry if this is TMI ... but just wanted to get some input. I'm 7 months out from sleeve surgery and I've been doing great. The occasional dumping if I eat something I'm

Not suppose too.... however suddenly the past 5 days I haven't been able to hold anything down! I think I had food poisoning from some fish I ate the first two days... but it hasn't stopped. Any little thing I eat runs thru me... even Water makes me go to the bathroom #2!

Anyone been through the same thing or similar?? Any tips?

Five days is a little long to still have nausea and diarrhea. You should call your doctor.

Have you seen your doc? Did it subside? All the runs can lead to dehydration. Hope you're feeling better now.

For the past 5 days I've been running to the loo. It was fun the 1st 2 days, losing another 2lbs after just 3 days. But now I'd rather be normal then have lbs dropping off. Reading this thread has made me concerned about dehydration ☹️

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
