Recommended Posts

Hi so I had gastric bypass Jan 24th 2017, so almost 4 months post op, and have had no problems but here lately I've been feeling sick, nauseated and feeling like I have to throw up but my food and Water stays down fine, it feels like acid reflux but I thought this surgery was suppose to eliminate acid reflux, anyone else experiencing this?

There is a rare person that can have acid trouble after bypass. Ulcers are more common. Mention it to your team... Could be something completely different...

Do you still have your gallbladder? If so, that might be the culprit, especially if the nausea is accompanied by upper right abdominal pain (sometimes radiating to the back and underneath the right shoulder).

I had mine the same time as you and the last couple days whatever hits my stomach hurts. Feels like it's sitting in their like a brick. I as well have had no issues at all. It's been 2 days like this. Not sure either what it is.

These things may cause an ulcer, not sure if any apply to you:

1. H. Pylori infection

2. NSAIDs or Aspirin

3. Smoking

4. Alcohol

5. Carbonated beverages

6. coffee (decaf or regular)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
