I'm scheduled for surgery on 5/24 and I know just what you're feeling cause I'm feeling it too. I'm not so much worried about the surgery itself but whether or not I'll be able to get through eating small portions and tiny bites of food. But when I start thinking this way, I try to focus on all the great things that are going to happen because of the surgery--my knees and hips will stop hurting, I can be more active, I can buy cute clothes and wear a belt, I'll live longer and be healthier--that makes my doubts go away. I hope your surgery goes great!

Please don't worry about having to eat small portions and tiny bites of food. It's all you'll want to eat. I had a vsg on 28th Feb 2017, and without having to 'try' I just naturally want less on my plate, and cautiously take small mouthfuls and chew lots as I quickly learnt that if I ate big bites, or ate too fast I'd fill up after a couple of mouth fulls. So now I only want small portions (large portions are overwhelming), and want to eat small mouthfuls and eat slowly so I can enjoy the food more.

I too am May 25th. Feeling the same. Can't sleep. Nervous. I think sometimes me reading some of the things on here is what scares me. But I'm ready! I'm done looking and feeling like this. I cannot wait to be able to sit on the floor with my grandsons, Buy new clothes. And go out with my hubby and feel confident about myself. So here I go!!!

@Alimap300 @bilisgfy @justJoan looks like we are all May 25 surgery date (apologies if I left anybody out - but please shout out so I know who my May 25 sleeve buddies are). Lovely to know that there are some other people out there going through exactly the same thoughts fears and realities I'm about to go through on Thursday.

I am suffering badly with gas... from both ends. Apologies for the TMI - but neither have ever been an issue for me before, so not sure if it's the liquid diet - my stomach still readjusting after band removal.. but hope it gets better on the other side :-)

Hi. Hope your doing good. I'm ok. I got very emotional on surgery day. Dr told me when he got into the OR I had been balling. Ugh. When we drove home the day after I kept thinking, what did I do! Today I still am having a hard time. sleeping ok. Feel hungry. Trying to do my liquids. Tomorrow I will start on next stage. I keep thinking, why didn't I just try harder to lose the weight. I have an aunt and a niece that both had they surgery. They keep telling me... it's going to be ok. This too shall pass. I hope so. 😌

I was a nervous wreck as I was wheeled in but I knew I wasn't turning back. Be patient with yourself. Your body has gone through so much. Of course your emotions are out of whack. I keep feeling like I'm doing something wrong. Drinking hot Water with crystal light but not enough. Drinking a Protein Shake but worry that I'm not sipping slow enough. Made a Soup and strained out the broth today but would have preferred to eat the food. Made turkey meatballs as part of my families dinner this evening and it was so hard not to eat one but I didn't give in. Been walking quite a bit and praying for the strength to get this right. Little by little I suppose.

Walk, walk, walk, walk, walk, walk, & did I mention walk?!?

Seriously, walk - that helped me the most! And I was extremely "gurgly" for days!!!

Day 4 was much better, day 5 is seemingly even better. Our bodies have been through so MUCH! Just try to relax and allow your body to heal.

Wishing us all good luck!

Hello everyone,

I'm Ima Vsgee. Just had my sleeve done yesterday morning. Listen, there is absolutely no reason to be worried. I was sooo scared and it was all for nothing. Everyone here at the hospital was laughing at me because I woke up from my anesthesia early yelling "I'm Alive I'm Alive" Lol emoji23.png

How did you all do? Anyone run off the table last minute?

Look, I'm almost 6 weeks out and feel completely normal. I forgot how I used to eat before surgery, and have adapted to this way of life. No pain, lots of energy, and I feel great.

Before my surgery, I read a ton on here that at five days post-op is when you start to feel better. That's all I kept concentrating on, and when five days post-op came and went, I concentrated on three weeks out because I read someone who said that's when they could sleep on their stomach again. And it's all true. This is only a small part of pain for a lifetime of rewards. It'll be over and done before you all know it.

When did your energy return? I nap daily at ten days out. I want this energy!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
