Me too Kimmie!!! I wonder why some docs want to wait 6-8 weeks. My dr insists that we get our first fill at 4 weeks.

I was banded on 9/11 and won't be getting my first fill until November 2. So far I am doing very well. I will be one month post-op tomorrow and have lost 19 pounds. I am hopeful that I will continue losing even though I am not filled.

My first fill was SUPPOSED to be at 4 weeks, but they were booked too far in advance. Plus I have been in Europe this week soooo.... only 1 more week.

Hi, My 1st Fill Is 10/24 And I Too Can't Wait. I Have Been Hungry Now For 2 Weeks. I Have Been Able To Maintain The Weight That I Have Lost, It Has Been Really Hard Though. We Just Need To Keep Strong And Know That It Will Get Better.

Almost a week out from my first fill and still can't tell a difference. In fact I ate some ciabatta bread with my dinner last night. NO PROBLEMS... They told me to wait three weeks from the fill before calling to possibly set up another fill. I just know that I will be calling them back. Basically I am just dieting. Sometimes I wonder if I picked the right operation, then I have to remember my long list of reasons. I guess I will just be toughing this one out.

guiness girl- I heard it could take anywhere from 3-5 fills for restriction-while that is not what we want to hear.. you will get there... keep up what you are doing- my fill is on thurs- I will let everyone know if I feel any different- I am just trying to get in the mindset not to expect restriction- if I do-awesome-if I don't then- maybe next time-by the way-what size band do you have and how much of a fill did you get??

Not sure on my band size or type. I will be sure to ask at my next visit. I know I have .6 cc's in it currently. Today is 1 week post-fill. Still nothing. I'll keep on trucking though.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
