Panic Attacks

Recommended Posts

Does anyone suffer from panic attacks?

I have been suffering from these anxiety attacks since February. I get very sleepy with one of my medicines. I know I'll have a hard time before the surgery.

I wonder what other people have done....:help:

Talk to your doctor in before you go in for surgery so that when you are in pre-op and you ask for something for nerves (usually they give you valium) they are prepared. I suffer from anxiety as well and had them do that for me.

Good luck

I concur. Talk to your doc and get Valium before you go. When I was 17 and had rhinoplasty, the doctor (thinking I'd be nervous but I wasn't) gave me a Valium to take before my mom drove me to the hospital. I didn't need the Valium, but taking it was quite a ride. I'm sure it will help prevent a panic attack.

Def talk to your doc. I wasnt that nervous before my surgery but when i was coming out of anesthesia(probably how i react to that stuff) instead of getting neauseated i got SEVERLY anxious. Like i was trying to get off of my bed and like run out of the hospital- lol- i thought they were out to get me. They gave me meds then, and in an hour or two i was better. But take it from me, you dont want that to happen after surgery, so take something before hand.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
