Just wanted to say hey and good luck to everyone on their current and/or future sleeve journey. I just had my sleeve done on 4/3/17 and am on post op day 5. I wish I had found the forum prior to my surgery, but oh well.

Hi Sean!

We are sleeve twins!

I also had mine done on the 4th! How you finding it? Today is the best I've felt so far, I'm struggling to get my full liquids in!

I cannot wait to puree stage!

Hey Jade!

Each day I feel a little better. The day after surgery was probably the worst for me. The gas pain that I experienced (which I wish I had been forewarned about) was incredible. I was super sore in my upper back and shoulders. It took about 2 days for the pain to dissipate.

I have no pain in the incision sites, just a huge eggplant colored bruise from the heparin shots, from my mid chest, all the way down my stomach.

The only issue I've had, and I've only found a few cases of it, is immediately upon waking up from surgery I had a strong electrical pain in my right quadricep muscle and made my muscle spasm. Since then, it comes and goes with burning, tingling, and numbness. I will be addressing it with my Dr on Tuesday at my 1 week follow up. We'll see how it goes.

I haven't struggled at all with my liquids thankfully. That was one of my biggest concerns going in.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
