I feel that same way when I drink. It is weird. I feel it getting better though. 40 ounces is great in my opinion. I am finding it so hard to get in all my fluids. Like you I was hoping to see some weight loss but right now (6 days out) I feel and look no different. I refuse to step on a scale and get depressed so I haven't even attempted it. I am sad and wondering if I should have chose a bypass instead :( I just pray I did not do all this to lose no weight or just a small amount. I was praying it would help me loose at least 60 pounds over the next 6 months or so.

I know exactly how you feel, having doubts now that this was worth it. Thought I'd be feeling better but instead just feel fat and sick with this awful taste in my mouth from all this fake fruit flavored medicine and "food". My husband has been so supportive and I felt so prepared that Im trying not to fall apart. It's not a food thing either, not craving anything, just feel so awful between the headache and the pain. We have to believe that this is going to work, it works for everyone else it will work for us, you will lose that 60 pounds over the next 6 months and so will I. Those are reasonable realistic goals, we just have to turn this corner.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
