I am about 2 weeks post op n the pain I get is incredible then slowly burps I have made a demonstration of where it hurts am I alone in this should I tell my doctor?

I am on the puree phase what I was eating from this website

cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan
1 large Egg, beaten
1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning
salt & pepper to taste
1/2 cup Marinara Sauce
1/2 cup shredded Mozzarella Cheese

Mix ricotta cheese, parmesan, beaten egg, seasonings together and place in an ovenproof dish. Pour marinara on top and top with mozzarella cheese. Bake it in the oven @ 450 for about 20-25 minutes (best) or nuke it till hot and bubbly. I usually made it first in the oven and heated the leftovers in the microwave.

It sounds like you are eating too fast and/or with bites that are too big. Tiny bites (like baby spoon sized bites), chew thoroughly, take 30-60 seconds between bites.

I'm 10 weeks out and it is still pretty painful to eat and sometimes drink my Protein Shakes. But it is way better than it was at 2 weeks out. HANG IN THERE! It does get better. I call my sleeve Gurglely Gertie, Gi-Gi for short! Hand in there and I encourage you to call your doctor for advice and reassurance on Monday! It will put your mind at ease and help you feel not so overwhelmed and as if you're hurting yourself or doing something wrong. Good luck and God Bless! :)

Use your phone to set a timer to time between bites. It helps a lot and 60 seconds is longer than it feels!

When you reheat things in the microwave you remove some of the moisture.

So leftovers become denser and harder to eat.

I never had anything like this on soft foods I had soft baked fish.

Call your Dr, you should not have pain when eating.

Is it pain with every bite or after a few? It took me a while to realize that the pain meant I was full and should stop even though I had one or two bites left. It's definitely a learning process and a big change to have to "listen" to what your body is trying to tell you.

Try the Baritastic app, it has a built in "chew chew chew" timer that will help you slow down.

I get that same pain when I get cocky and try to drink too fast. I chugged a half a glass of milk this am and had to sit down and clutch at my chest like I was having a heart attack.

Where do I find the app that Teacupnosaucer mentioned? I, too, experience the pain when I eat too fast (which is a life long habit that I'm really aware of now).

I downloaded mine from the App Store on my iPhone. It's free

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
