Is my weight leveling off??

Recommended Posts

I'm 5 weeks shy of my 1 year anniversary. I have dropped a lot of weight at the beginning and started to really worry. However, I haven't lost a single pound for the last 3 months. Does this mean that my weight is stabilizing now? I keep hearing that people keep losing for almost 18 months. I'm happy where I've reached though it really scared me at some point and will be even happier to gain few kg's.. when did your weight started to stabilize and when did you gain back some weight if you ever did?

P.s I've had MGB and not RNY.

I'd say it would depend on where you feel is good for you. If you're like me and have never been of a normal bmi for your age or height then it can be scary, weird and confusing to know when its enough. Especially if you've never maintained weight-loss for any amount of time (me). I wish i could help you. Im still in the losing phase and a little rattled about the next 50 or so lbs. I guess you just gotta fiddle around and see what works for you. But if you continue eating like you did in the losing phase that may be why you're still losing? If you want to gain or maintain, more calories may be in order. And if you are working out strenuously maybe try to level it out to a few times a week and see if that helps? I'm no good that keeping weight off so i hope i made some sense. It's late lol.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
