Sleeved yesterday! (15 March)

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone!

I am not sure if this has been answered anywhere already, but I thought I would ask if anyone has any pointers about the urination frequency. I have been going about every hour for the past several Hours. Is that normal? I feel like I always have to pee!

Also, did anyone have crazy, what feels like pressure, on their bladder the day of surgery and into the next morning?

I'm thinking it's gas, and am trying to walk around as much as I can.

Thank you

It could just be all the excess IVF coming off from surgery. If you had a urinary catheter during surgery, you could have some irritation from that as well. A long as there is no pain with urination you should be ok. When in double check with your physician.

Best Wishes on your journey! Walk and stay hydrated. :)

edited to say IVF= Intravenous Fluid

My nurses were very pleased with the frequency for me. I didn't have any issues. As doingit4me2017 said, it's because you're fluids through your IV. Do you get to go home today? I had my surgery last Wednesday, when I went home, it slowed some but if you're drinking the 64 fl oz of Water, not much until you get used to it.

Had my surgery yesterday as well! I did get up a few times throughout the night to pee. Currently just have a lot of pressure on my upper stomach I think just from gas. Got to start my Clear Liquids today! Hope you're recovery goes smoothly!!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
