Hey everyone,

I was just wondering if you could tell me what a stall is. I know it's when you stop losing weight for a period of time but how long does it last and how did you get through it?

I'm a very impatient person and I get a lot of anxiety when I'm not losing weight because I'm doing everything right and I'm just getting frustrated.

Xx

I get the anxiety. I'm anxious about the dreaded 2 weeks stall post-op. It hasn't even happened yet. I highly suggest you stay off your scale. Only weigh once a week. You're probably losing inches. Take a deep breath and stay on plan. If you're on plan, 64oz Fluid and 60 grams protien, getting some exercise. You're doing all you can do. There is nothing more you can do.
Good luck you got this

Patience. I am in my 1st stall right now. It started Sat. Yes, it's bothersome, but I know I'm not eating anywhere what I was eating before, so it will come off.

It is different for everyone. Just make sure you are following your nutrition and Vitamin guidelines and it will pass. Your body has to adjust to the new amount of calories. You can try to increase your physical activity but if you are soon out of surgery don't push yourself. Just walk. It will pass. Try not to focus on the scale.

Have you been taking your measurements? Sometimes you are losing inches even when you are not losing pounds. Try to focus on how your clothes are fitting more than the number on the scale.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
