Hi all. I am officially 8 weeks post op tomm. So my 2 month pic is one day premature , lol. I am currently 186 lbs today. Surgery was 12/5/16 and surgery weight was 219 lbs. soooo, I am currently 33 lbs down since surgery. My preop weight was 242lbs....so total weight loss since July 2016 is 56 lbs , yay. So, this is what 186 lbs looks like on me. Not perfect but I'm 36 lbs away from my goal weight of 150 lbs. I am still a work in progress but I'm proud of my progress this far.

You look GREAT! I couldn't even see a scar. I had my surgery 12/16/16 and feel like progress is SO slow; down just 20 in over 6 weeks from surgery day. Plus my scars are very visible but I know that too will take time.

Thank you so much ... but the scars are def still there... I use bio oil n it has helped fade the scars away so much... it's a Lil costly but worth it.. n at 6 weeks you are doing great with a 30 lbs loss... I used to get discouraged about the amount I lost due to so many people lose massive amount but now I focus on how my clothes are fitting which lets me know inches are flying off... so don't focus on scale too much look at yourself and see how your body is changing. Take care n good luck to you.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
